Victor Longhorn Family Historian

I have been researching my own family history since 1972, but on taking early retirement from British Telecom in 1993, I decided to take Genealogy up as a profession. I studied with the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, and obtained their Part 2, and Record Agent certificates in Genealogy.

I became a professional researcher in 1996, and in 1997, was accepted as a member of The Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (A.G.R.A.), which enforces a strict code of practice among its members, and a complaints procedure for their clients. I served on the AGRA council for six years, which was very useful in building up contacts with other researchers.
